Compassio

This piece was created in memory of my boy, LittleMan. He and I had a wonderful 17 years together, and he was always so loving—unconditional love. Something that is very important to me is the compassion we shared.

In the beginning of my recovery, I learned about the origins of the word “passion.” Passion derives from the Latin word passio, which means “suffering,” “endurance,” or “bearing pain.” In Latin, the prefixcom- means “with” or “together.” This is where we get the word “compassion.”

For me, compassion means to endure together. LittleMan and I endured a lot together. He was my rock.
